Wirrimbirra Dingo Sanctuary Nepean Dam
There are many things to see and do in Bargo including bush walking and cycling, an important attraction is Wirrimbirra Sanctuary, famous for the white Waratah.
This unique flora and fauna reserve is an education facility and includes budget accommodation, a native plant nursery, bush walking and a native animal walk.
Excitingly, the Bargo Dingo Sanctuary has now moved to Wirrimbirra. This colony of 35 pure-bred dingoes is one of the largest facilities of it's kind in Australia. The dingoes, all DNA tested to be pure, form a nucleus breeding colony as dingoes are fast becoming extinct in the wild due to hunting and interbreeding with feral dogs.
